ICISA Website Policy

(1) General Guidelines
The ICISA website and all the functions it provides must only be used for academic related issues. Anyone who purposely abuses any system resources or components of the website will be removed immediately without notice. The ICISA web site and its functions must not be used for any illegal purposes. All materials on the ICISA website are copyrighted by the ICISA.
 
(2) News

News messages are posted to the homepage of the ICISA website. All messages should be approved and posted by the ICISA webmaster. The current president and officers retain the right to review and recall the posted message should the content of the message be questioned. Messages not pertinent to ICISA operations will only be posted in the form of hyperlinks. ICISA is not responsible for the content of these hyperlinks pointing to external resources.

News messages posted to the ICISA's homepage generally stays there for a month. Older messages are archived and are made available through the ¡§stories archive¡¨ link. These older messages are also categorized under the ¡§Topics¡¨ link. All news messages are made to the general public.

 
(3) Downloads
The ¡§downloads¡¨ section currently facilitates downloading of the archived issues of Communications of the ICISA. ICSA makes its official journal available online to its members. ICISA owns the copyright of its journal. Materials downloaded from the ICISA web site are protected by the copyright law. New volumes/issues of the journal will be made available by the webmaster per request of the journal editor(s). The function of ¡§Downloads¡¨ is available only to the registered users.
 
(4) FAQs
FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) are to be posted by the webmaster and should be related to the operations of ICISA and its web site. The FAQs are made to the general public.
 
(5) Private Messages
Private messages, as the name suggests, allow a registered member to send private messages to other registered members at the ICISA web site. Before composing private messages, a member should follow the rules outlined in the ¡§Discussion Forums¡¨ below. The recipients of the private messages will see the messages upon login. The function of ¡§Private Messages¡¨ is available only to the registered users.
 
(6) Discussion Forums

Discussion forums are intended to provide ICISA members with the means to share knowledge and discuss topics relating to information systems. Users should follow the Netiquette Guidelines (http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1855.txt) to be a good citizen at the ICISA web site. Messages posted with violation of the following rules are subject to removal by the webmaster/forum moderator(s) without notice. Repeated violations will result in account termination. The function of ¡§Discussion Forums¡¨ is available only to the registered users.

  • Advertising of any kind is not allowed.
  • The ICISA forums cannot be used to attack other organizations, entities, or persons.
  • Spamming or harassing other users is grounds for removal.
  • Messages should not contain offensive language or references.
  • Copyright infringement and violation of proprietary interests are not permitted.
  • Any user is prohibited to cross-post his/her messages to multiple forums.
  • ICISA reserves the right to reuse or republish the content from discussion forums.
 
(7) Web links
Web links are the hypertext links that point to external resources that may be of interest to ICISA members. Posting of a web link is subject to the approval of the ICISA webmaster. The current president and officers retain the right to review and recall the posted web link should the web link be questioned. This function is available to the general public.
 
(8) Mass Email
The mass email function is only available to the webmaster. In case of a need to send mass email to users registered at the ICISA website, the webmaster will obtain permission from the current ICISA president.
 
(9) Personalized Email Addresses
Personalized email addresses with the icisa.info domain name (e.g., jdow@icisa.info) will only be made available to the ICISA officers with the approval of the current ICISA president. Note that email storage space is counted towards the allowable hosting space of the ICISA website.
 
(10) Webmaster

The ICISA webmaster is appointed by the current ICISA president.
